WI outing, the blossom trail, and Great Witley Church

Our outing started from the Winchcombe library. From there we saw the magnificent magnolias en route to Evesham, the lovely villages of the Lenches, with so much plum blossom and hedgerow blossoms , onto Worcester and our tea destination, the parish hall at Clifton on Teme, where we were treated to a magnificent WI tea!

Onto Great Witley to see the amazing baroque church.

The view from Great Witley Church.

Inside the beautiful Anglican church, showing the splendour, unique amongst most country churches, decorated by many paintings by Antonio Bellucci. Handel played the organ here.

Members enjoying the visit.

Showing the exquisite ceiling paintings.

Back to the Winchcombe library. We had a great day out.

A Morning at the Movies!

Last week, 12 of us went to the Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury to see 'The Last Station'. A very Russian film, full of gloom, but made possible by the fine acting of Helen Mirren. A bit dark for a Tuesday morning!
